Pipe Bomb Found In East Belfast

A pipe bomb has been found in east Belfast overnight.

A suspicious object was reported to police in Island Street at around 1.40am on Thursday.

A security operation was launched and army bomb experts found declared it to be a viable bomb-type device.

No homes were evacuated during the alert and the operation ended shortly before 6am.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Appeal Following Petrol Bomb Attack In Banbridge
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a petrol bomb attack in Banbridge, in the early hours of Tuesday 19th March. It was reported that at around 2.10am on Tuesday morning, two petrol bombs were thrown at the back wall of a house in the Castlewellan Road area, causing scorch damage to the wall and a window frame.

Man Arrested In Connection With Banbridge Shooting
A 39-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Banbridge on Friday 12 April. Detectives investigating the shooting incident carried out a search of two properties in the Mullaghbawn and Banbridge areas on Wednesday, 17 April.

Appeal Following Serious Collision In Gilford
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following a serious road traffic collision on Banbridge Road, Gilford on Saturday 9th March. Just after 10.50pm, it was reported that two vehicles had collided on the road between Lawrencetown and Gilford.
