Three Men Arrested In Connection With Armed Robbery In South Belfast

Three men have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a shop in south Belfast.

The incident occurred at a convenience store on the Lisburn Road just after 7am on Tuesday.

The robbers held staff at knifepoint and made off on foot with a sum of cash.

three men, aged 30, 28, and 23, were arrested at a nearby flat a short time later, according to the police.

They have been detained in custody and are helping police with their enquiries.

Detective Constable Siobhan McIlhone said: "We know that the area was busy with pedestrians and traffic at around the time of the robbery and we would like to speak to anyone who may have seen something that could be helpful to our investigation. Detectives can be contacted at Musgrave Police Station by calling 101."

Three men have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery in Killinchy, Co Down. The incident happened at a shop in the Comber Road area at around 7.30pm on Sunday, 26 March. A man, armed with a hammer, entered the premises and threatened a female member of staff. He made off with a sum of cash and cigarettes.

Three Arrested In Connection With Ballymena Murder
Police are treating the death of a 69-year-old man from Ballymena as murder. The victim was discovered in the Drumtara area on Tuesday afternoon. Two men, aged 41 and 49, and a woman, 47, have been arrested and are in police custody. Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Three arrested in connection with armed robbery
Three men have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery of a security van in County Down yesterday morning. Police have said that a man, dressed in a fluorescent jacket and armed with a knife, approached the security guard while he was making a delivery to a grocery store on the Hill Street area of Newry, just before 10am.
