Security Alerts Underway In Tyrone And L'Derry

Two security alerts are underway in Co Tyrone and Co L'Derry.

In Co Tyrone the Urney Road has been closed between Bells Road and Bellspark Road. Police are urging the public not to touch any suspicious objects in the area and diversions have been put in place.

Elsewhere, in Co L'Derry the Leighery Road in Limavady has been closed at its junction with the Duncrun Road to Bishops Road after a suspicious object was discovered.

Motorists are being urged to seek an alternative route.

County Tyrone Farmer Fined Over Pollution Offences
A County Tyrone farmer has pleaded guilty and been fined £1,000, plus £15 offenders levy at Dungannon Magistrates Court for making a polluting discharge to a waterway. William Potter, Annaghquin Road, Cookstown, Co Tyrone, was fined for the offences on Friday.

Storm Eleanor Leaves Thousands Without Power
Thousands of people across Northern Ireland are without power this morning following damage caused overnight by Storm Eleanor. It is understood that power has already been restored to more than 20,000 homes and work is ongoing to reconnect all homes and businesses affected.
