The suspected cocaine was seized by officers from the local Titanic and East Belfast Neighbourhood Team during a planned search of a property in Bryson street.

The 22-year-old suspect was arrested in connection with a number of drugs and weapons offences.

A firearm, believed to be a blank firing pistol, was also recovered along with a quantity of blank ammunition.

Sinn Féin Councillor Niall Ó Donnghaile said: "The community in the Short Strand reject totally those who would try and pollute our area with such blatant disregard.
