Funeral Of Eddie Girvan Takes Place

The funeral of murdered pensioner Eddie Girvan has taken place in Carrick today, 26 January.

Mr Girvan, 67, was discovered dead at his home on Station Road in Greenisland last Monday night.

He was found with his hands tied and a stab wound to his chest.

A 29-year-old woman appeared in court last week charged with his murder.

Man refused bail over musician's murder
The man accused of murdering blues musician Jim Gilchrist was refused bail today at the High Court. Daryll John Quigley, 18, from Woodland Walk, Limavady, was charged with murder along with two others, after Mr Gilchrist's body was recovered from the river Foyle in September last year. One of the two other men accused was also refused bail.
