Man Attacked And Woman Threatened In East Belfast

Two men, one believed to be armed with a gun, have attacked another man and threatened a woman in east Belfast.

The incident happened at a house in the Holywood Road area at around 7.20pm on Thursday.

Two men went to the door of the property and assaulted a man in his 20s and threatened a woman in her 30s.

Both men were wearing scarves over their faces. One of the suspects was dressed in dark clothing and had a black rucksack.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Two Arrested Over Co Antrim Armed Robbery
Police investigating the armed robbery of a shop in Armoy, Co Antrim, on Saturday night have arrested two men. It is understood that two men armed with a gun and a knife threatened staff at a shop on Coolkeeran Road at about 19:00 on Saturday. The men made off with a quantity of cash and cigarettes. No-one was injured in the incident.

22-Year-Old Man Jailed For Rape At Laganside Crown Court
A 22-year-old man has been sentenced to six years for rape at Laganside Crown Court. Ahmad Alsbaihi was sentenced to six years. He will serve three years in custody and three years on licence. He will be placed on the Sex Offenders Register and will be subject to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) for 10 years.

Police In Cookstown Appeal For Witnesses To Machete Robbery
Police are appealing for witnesses to an armed robbery in a pound shop in Cookstown. According to police a man armed with a machete threatened staff at the shop in the retail park on Orritor Road at about 19:30 on Monday. He escaped with an undisclosed sum of money. No one was injured in the robbery.
