Nine Arrested Over Accessing Indecent Images Of Children Online

Nine people have been arrested in Northern Ireland in connection with accessing indecent images of children online.

The arrests follow a week of action against those accessing indecent images of children online.

The joint operation between the National Crime Agency (NCA) and the PSNI has been the result of proactive targeting of potential indecent image offenders.

A number of items were also seized for further forensic examination.

Those arrested have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

NCA CEOP Command's Tony Cook stated: "This is part of an ongoing pro-active operation using a range of investigative techniques to target all forms of child sexual abuse. Our aim is to arrest offenders and protect children who are victims or at risk of sexual exploitation. We want potential offenders to know tackling CSE is a priority for the National Crime Agency, and together with the PSNI, we will use every means available to ensure vulnerable children are protected and you are pursued and brought before the courts."

Detective Chief Superintendent George Clarke, said: "Our message to those who continue to exploit children online is very clear. You leave a digital footprint when you are downloading, viewing, making indecent images of children and both the PSNI and NCA have the capacity, capability and determination to catch you and bring you to justice."

25 Arrested Over Accessing Indecent Images Of Children Online
A total of 25 people have been arrested as part of a joint operation by the PSNI and the National Crime Agency (NCA) against those accessing indecent images of children online. As well as 25 arrests, steps were also taken to safeguard and protect 32 children as appropriate. A number of items have also been seized for further forensic examination.

Man Arrested For Possessing Indecent Images Of Children And Voyeurism
A 25-year-old man has been arrested for possessing indecent images of children and voyeurism following an incident at a leisure complex in Bangor. Police launched an investigation after a man was seen holding a mobile phone "over the side of a cubicle" in the swimming pool changing area at the Aurora Leisure Complex on Saturday 15 August.

Belfast Man Pleads Guilty To Making Indecent Images Of Children
A 54-year-old Belfast man has pleaded guilty to making indecent images of children and possessing extreme pornography. Named by the PSNI, Aaron Ravel pled guilty to four offences at Laganside Crown Court.
