Two Men Arrested After Police Seize £60k Of Cocaine

Two men have been arrested after police seized drugs, worth a minimum street value of £60,000.

Suspected high purity cocaine and a very large quantity of benzocaine, which can be used as a mixing agent to increase the amount of cocaine available for sale, was discovered by police on Monday.

The searches were part of a joint operation between PSNI Reactive and Organised Crime Branch and An Garda Siochana National Drugs Unit.

The men, aged 25 and 30, were arrested in Belfast city centre and are being questioned at Musgrave Police Station on suspicion of a number of drugs and money laundering offences.

A number of searches also took place in Belfast, Coleraine, Portstewart and L'Derry areas as part of the operation.

A 20-year-old woman arrested as part of the operation has been released unconditionally and a 37-year-old man has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Detective Inspector Alan Pyper said: "These arrests are part of a pro-active investigation into the illegal drugs supply in Northern Ireland. I am delighted that we have taken these drugs out of circulation reducing the potential harm to individuals and communities."

Two arrested following police raids

Three men arrested in separate drugs finds
Three men have been arrested following separate drugs finds in Belfast and Co. Londonderry on Monday. A 38-year-old man was arrested following the discovery of drugs, worth an estimated £50,000, in east Belfast. He was subsequently charged with being in possession cannabis with intent to supply following the drugs seizure at Garnerville.
