Two To Appear In Court Following £400,000 Cannabis Seizure

A man and woman are to appear in court after £400,000 worth of cannabis was seized on the M2 and in Newtownards.

£200,000 drugs were found after police stopped and searched a car on the M2.

Searches also took place in the Shore Road area of Belfast and in Newtownards as part of the investigation.

A 52-year-old woman was arrested and is to appear at Coleraine Magistrates court today, 21 March.

A 33-year-old man was also charged and is to appear at Laganside Magistrates court today, 21 March.

All charges will be reviewed by the PPS.

Man Due In Court Charged With Kevin Conway Murder
A 27-year-old man is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates' Court today, Monday, 29 January, charged with the murder of Kevin Conway. The man was arrested in west Belfast on 09 January, by detectives investigating the murder. Police have said that as is usual procedure, the charge will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

Sexual Offences Legal Advisers Scheme Extended To March 2025
A Sexual Offences Legal Advisers (SOLA) pilot scheme is to be extended until March 2025, Justice Minister Naomi Long has announced. First introduced in April 2021, the SOLA scheme provides free, independent legal advice and advocacy to adult complainants in serious sexual offence cases, up to the point of trial.
