Three Men Charged Following £300,000 Cannabis Seizure

Three men have been charged after police seized over £300,000 worth of herbal cannabis in Lurgan, Co Armagh.

The drugs were found after several vehicles were searched on the Derrymacash Road on Friday, 22 April.

The suspects, aged 32, 36, and 59, have been charged with possession of class B drugs, possession of class B drugs with intent to supply and being concerned in the supply of class B drugs.

They are due to appear at Lisburn Magistrates' Court today, 25 April.

The charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service (PPS).

A quantity of fireworks and a number of imitation firearms were also discovered in the Pilot Street area on Thursday, 15 February. A man has been attacked by a gang of armed men at a house in north Belfast. The assault happened in the Oakley Street area in the early hours of Wednesday, 14 February. The victim was punched in the head and a front window of the property was also smashed. One man was armed with a sword and the other men had bats and bars.

Two Men Arrested Over Death Of Young Dog
Two men have been arrested in connection with the death of a young dog. Police received reports that the dog had been killed in the Ailsbury Park area in Lurgan on Monday, 05 February. The suspects have been detained on suspicion of causing unnecessary suffering to an animal. They remain in police custody.

Children Left 'Extremely Shocked' Following Burglary In North Belfast
Four children have been left "extremely shocked" after men armed with knives and a crowbar forced their way into a house in north Belfast. The incident happened at a property in the Arbour street area on Saturday, 03 February. A woman and two men as well as the children were in the house at the time. They were not physically harmed.

Man Stabbed In East Belfast
A man has been stabbed in the abdomen in east Belfast. The victim was walking along Ravensdale Street with a friend just after 7pm on Saturday, 03 February. He was approached by a group of around five men and one is believed to have stabbed the man. The second man was not injured.

Two Men Injured In Crumlin Crash
Two men have been injured following a crash near Crumlin, Co Antrim. The collision happened at the Nutts Corner roundabout at around 4.10pm on Monday, 29 January. The crash involved a silver Vauxhall Vectra and a blue Peugeot 407. The men are believed to be in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

Two Men Injured In Separate Shooting Attacks In Belfast
Two men have been seriously injured in separate shooting attacks in Belfast on Sunday, 28 January. A 41-year-old man was shot in both legs and an arm in the Divismore Park area of Ballymurphy in west Belfast. Elsewhere, a 26-year-old man was shot in the legs in the Upper Meadow Street area in north Belfast.

Belfast Trust To Take Over Lifeline
Belfast Health and Social Care Trust will take over Lifeline to help people in distress or despair. The Public Health Agency's (PHA) contract with Contact ends on 31 March. The PHA offered to extend the contract until 01 April, however this was declined.

£600k Of Cannabis Seized
£600,000 of cannabis has been seized by the PSNI's Organised Crime Branch, following the stop and search of a number of vehicles in Glengormley. The seizures were carried out in the Ballyrobert and Corrs Corner areas.

A man has been charged in connection with a cannabis seizure in Foreglen, Co L'Derry. Cannabis plants worth an estimated value of £400,000 were discovered at a property in October last year. The man has been charged with possession of class B drugs, possession with intent to supply class B drugs and cultivating cannabis.

A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including possession of an offensive weapon and several counts of criminal damage in Carrickfergus.
