AMT-SYBEX Wins £8.7m Deal
Belfast based AMT-SYBEX, a software and services company, has been awarded an £8.7 million deal for nine years to deliver a new state of the art food, animal health and traceability system for Northern Ireland.
The Northern Ireland Food Animal Information System (NIFAIS) will be an improved replacement for the Animal and Public Health Information System (APHIS), which has been in operation since November 1998.
Brian Mitchell, Head of Technical Delivery at AMT-SYBEX, commented: "We're delighted to have been selected to deliver NIFAIS in partnership with the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA), and look forward to providing a functionally rich and highly configurable system which will support DAERA's business through the next 15 years and beyond."

Infrastructure Minister Meets With NI Mental Health Champion
Infrastructure Minister, John O'Dowd, has met with Mental Health Champion, Professor Siobhan O'Neill, to discuss how the Department for Infrastructure can support mental health initiatives. Speaking after the meeting Minister O'Dowd said: "This was a productive meeting where I renewed my commitment to supporting Professor O'Neill in her work.

Conference Announced To Address Underlying Causes Of Poor Mental Health
A major conference set to take place in Belfast on Thursday, 21 March, will address the underlying causes of poor mental health and achieve better outcomes for people living in Northern Ireland. The issue has been brought into focus by data which show that approximately one in five people in Northern Ireland have a potential mental health problem.

The Consumer Council said that at times it seems unavoidable that food goes-off before we get the chance to eat it. There are quite a few myths about storing food properly.

NI To Be Included In New UK-Wide Anti-Tobacco And Vape Bill
Northern Ireland is to be included in a new UK-wide Tobacco and Vapes Bill, which will make it illegal to sell tobacco products to anyone born on or after 1 January 2009. The proposed legislation will also provide powers to allow for further regulatory measures to address youth vaping.
