Number Of Shots Fired At House In West Belfast

A number of shots have been fired at a house in west Belfast.

The incident happened in Tollanamona Court at around 2.40am on Saturday, 16 July.

Several shots were fired through the front window and door of the property.

A man, woman and child in the house at the time were not injured.

Sinn Féin Councillor Emma Groves said: "I condemn this attack. An elderly couple and their grandchild was in the home at the time of the shooting and thankfully no one was hurt.

"Anyone with information about this incident should bring it forward to the PSNI."

SDLP Councillor Tim Attwood said: "I was relieved to hear that there were no injuries, although I am sure that they are very shaken following this vicious attack. They have lived in this house for more than thirty years, and my thoughts are with them and their family.

"The PSNI have said that they are working on a motive for the attack, and I would appeal to anyone who has any information about this crime to come forward as soon as possible."
