Pensioner's Death Being Treated As Suspicious

Police are treating the death of a pensioner in Banbridge as suspicious.

Frank Bratley, aged 85, was found dead at his home in the Old Forge Lane area on Tuesday afternoon, 19 July.

A post-mortem is to be carried out.

Detective Chief Inspector Alan Dickson said: "I'm appealing for anyone with any information about suspicious or unusual activity in the Old Forge area between 7am and 2pm today or anyone who spoke to Mr Bratley to contact police."

DUP MLA Carla Lockhart is calling on the public to come forward with information.

She said: "This is such a tragic incident and my thoughts, prayers and heartfelt sympathies are with the gentleman's family.

"The death is currently being treated as suspicious and I know this has caused some unrest amongst residents. This is a very worrying turn of events in the Old Forge area of Banbridge. Information is still unfolding and I am aware that a post-mortem is underway.

"I am liaising with the PSNI in this regard and would encourage anyone who has any information to come forward to the PSNI and report it via their 101 system."

25-Year-Old Charged With Murder Of Bobbie McKee
A 25-year-old man has been charged in connection with the murder of Bobbie McKee in Kilkeel. Mr McKee (69) died shortly after being found seriously injured at his home in the Newcastle Road area on Thursday 21 March. The man has also been charged with the attempted murder of Mr McKee's wife, who remains in a serious condition in hospital.

15-Year-Old Arrested Following Stabbing In Lisburn
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the stabbing of a 14-year-old in the Knockmore Road area of Lisburn last night, Monday 25th March. Police have said that at approximately 7.40pm on Monday 25 March, a 14-year-old boy had been approached by a group of teenagers, before being stabbed in the lower back.

Death Of Frank Bratley No Longer Being Treated As Suspicious
The death of pensioner Frank Bratley is no longer being treated as suspicious, according to the police. Mr Bratley, 85, was found dead at a house in the Old Forge Lane area of Banbridge on Tuesday, 19 July. At the time the PSNI said they were treating his death as suspicious.

Appeal For Information On Serious Assault In Portadown
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a serious assault in Portadown that it being investigated as a 'disability hate crime'. On Saturday, 24 February, at around 5.20pm, police received a report that a young man had been attacked by six teenage boys in the High Street Mall area.
