Police Renew Appeal After Explosive Device Found In Lisburn

Police have issued a fresh appeal after an explosive device was found in Lisburn.

The device was discovered in the Market Place area just before 2pm on Saturday, 30 July.

A major security operation was launched following the discovery and the immediate area was sealed off. A number of surrounding businesses were also evacuated.

Detective Chief Inspector Alison Rowland said: "We are particularly interested in speaking with the drivers of the following vehicles who we know were in that area on Saturday:

• Grey coloured BMW X3 or X5

• Blue coloured Ford Focus

• Grey coloured Vauxhall Astra

• Silver coloured Suzuki jeep

"Police will continue to proactively police Lisburn to prevent such attacks and would encourage public support to help us keep our community safe."

15-Year-Old Arrested Following Stabbing In Lisburn
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the stabbing of a 14-year-old in the Knockmore Road area of Lisburn last night, Monday 25th March. Police have said that at approximately 7.40pm on Monday 25 March, a 14-year-old boy had been approached by a group of teenagers, before being stabbed in the lower back.

Boy Injured In Ballymena House Attack
A 15-month-old boy has been injured after a brick was thrown through the window of a house in Ballymena on Wednesday night. The infant was in the living room when the incident occurred at a property on the Moat Road at around 11.30pm. Paramedics treated the boy at the scene, however he did not need to be taken to hospital.

Appeal Issued On Hit-And-Run In Armagh
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a hit-and-run road traffic collision in the Moy Road area of Armagh on the night of Saturday 9th December. It was reported that a man had been knocked down at around 10.35pm. The man, aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital by the ambulance service, for treatment to leg injuries.

Police Appeal After Man Dies In Castlewellan Collision
A man, aged in his 50s, has died in a collision in Castlewellan. The crash happened on the Carnreagh Road on Monday, 05 December, between 9.30am and 10am. The PSNI are appealing for witnesses who saw a purple coloured Isuzu pick-up truck and trailer to contact them. The road was closed, however it has since been re-opened.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.
