Tributes Paid To Man Who Died In Lurgan Workplace Accident

Tributes have been paid to a man who died in a workplace incident in Lurgan, Co Armagh.

The man, named locally as Jonathan Peden, aged 33, died following an accident at Little Electrical Engineers in the Queens Place area on Thursday, 11 August.

The firm described him as a "much loved and respected member of staff".

In a statement the company said: "We wish to express our deepest sympathy and condolences to the family and friends of the deceased and assure them that our thoughts and prayers are with them at this very difficult time. We are co-operating fully with all of the Statutory Authorities in investigating the tragic circumstances of this accident."

His brother Adam posted on Facebook: "My amazing older brother's life was taken away this morning. The most shocking news I have ever received.

"Jonathan was one of the most amazing and kindest people, and for his life to be took just like that is heartbreaking. Never will he not be in my thoughts, my friend, my oldest brother, my first idol in life. I love you big bro, just wish I could tell you that."

The Health and Safety Executive has launched an investigation.
