Investigation Launched After Man Dies On Farm In Co Armagh

The Health and Safety Executive Northern Ireland (HSENI) has launched an investigation after a man, aged in his 70s, died in a farm incident in Co Armagh.

The man died at a farm in the Silverbridge area on Thursday afternoon, 25 August.

The circumstances surrounding his death are being investigated.

A spokesperson from HSENI said: "The HSENI is aware of the death of a farmer in the Silverbridge area of County Armagh and is currently investigating the circumstances.

"Our thoughts are with the family involved at this very difficult time."

Man Charged With Attempted Murder
A man has been charged with attempted murder after a man was stabbed a number of times in Belfast. The incident happened in the Ballynafoy Close area, just off the Ravenhill Road, at around 11.15pm on Tuesday, 07 November. Police were called to an altercation and a man, aged in his 20s, was found to have been stabbed multiple times.

Man Escapes Injury Following 'Suspicious' Caravan Fire In Co Down
A man has escaped injury following a fire at a caravan in Co Down. The blaze happened in the Ballyblack Road area of Newtownards at around 10pm on Wednesday, 01 November. The PSNI said the caravan was "completely destroyed". Emergency services attended the scene and put the blaze out.

Woman And Child Escape Injury After House Attacked In North Belfast
A woman and her child have escaped injury after their home was attacked in north Belfast. A brick was thrown at the window of the house in the York Road area shortly before 10.30pm on Thursday, 02 November. Police said they are treating the attack as a "hate crime".

Man Convicted Of Benefit Fraud A man has been convicted for claiming benefits he was not entitled to at Belfast Magistrates' Court. Paul McCusker claimed Jobseeker's Allowance and Housing Benefit totalling £8,596 while failing to declare employment. He was sentenced to four months imprisonment suspended for two years.

Appeal Issued For Missing Teenager
Police are appealing for information to help find a teenager who has been missing since Friday, 27 October. Alexandra Vorniceanu, aged 15, was last seen in the Ballymena area. Detectives are growing increasingly concerned of her whereabouts. They are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Man Attacked With Batons In Ballymoney
A 40-year-old man has been attacked with batons in Ballymoney. Police are describing it as a paramilitary-style attack. The man was beaten with batons at a property in the Alexandra Avenue area just after 8.30pm on Saturday, 28 October. Three masked men are believed to have entered the house and attacked the victim.

Two Men Charged Over Kidnapping In L'Derry
Two men have been charged over a kidnapping in Co L'Derry. The charges are in relation to an incident on Thursday, 26 October, in which a man was pulled into a vehicle in the Westway area. He was later found safe and well. The suspects, aged 31 and 33, are due to appear before Londonderry Magistrates' court today, 30 October.

Man Dies In Portadown Road Crash
An 18-year-old man has died following a collision in Portadown. The crash happened on the Dungannon Road between midnight and 12.30am on Wednesday, 08 November. The road has been re-opened. Elsewhere, a man, aged in his 30's, has died in a road collision in Co Antrim.

Second Man Arrested Over Liverpool Hit-And-Run
A second man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run in Liverpool in which Co Antrim man Matthew Bradley was killed. The 33-year-old man was detained on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving in Bradford. He has been conditionally bailed to appear in court in December, according to Merseyside Police.

Woman Killed Following Crash On A2
A woman has been killed in a car crash on the Bangor to Belfast Road on Friday, 10 November. The collision happened on the A2 at Ballygilbert after 3pm. A child was also critically injured and is being treated in hospital. Another man involved was treated in hospital, however he has been discharged. The road has since been re-opened.

More Arrests Over Quinn Killing
Three more men have been arrested in connection with the murder of south Armagh man Paul Quinn. The men from the Forkhill and Crossmaglen areas were arrested on Thursday morning. A number of items have also been removed for examination in what police said this afternoon is the second phase of a "targeted operation" in south Armagh.

PSNI 'Consider Omagh Retrial'
The PSNI are examining the possibility of a retrial of a South Armagh man originally cleared of involvement in the Omagh bombing. South Armagh man Sean Hoey was cleared of murdering of 29 people in Omagh, at the end of his trial in December 2007, which failed to secure any convictions against those charged with the devastating attack.

Investigation Into Holiday Death Continues
Police are continuing an investigation into the death of an 18-year-old County Armagh man while on holiday in Crete. Brendan McCoey, 18, from Cullyhanna was found at the bottom of a hotel swimming pool on the Mediterranean island on Sunday.
