Investigation Launched Following Post Office Robbery In Co Antrim

Police have launched an investigation after a post office was robbed in Co Antrim.

A man, armed with a gun, demanded money from the owner of Aghalee Post Office at around 9.30pm on Tuesday, 20 September.

The suspect made off in a silver Nissan Almera which was found burnt out in Shankill Street in Lurgan.

Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Post Office staff to stage walkout
Further postal strikes will continue today with the expected half-day strike of counter staff at nine post offices. The nine post offices affected are in Newtownards, Bangor, Antrim, Coleraine, Londonderry, Lisburn and two in Belfast. The walkout will be the fifth in a continuing dispute over pay and conditions and will begin at 2.30pm.
