Man Arrested Over Carjacking

A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a carjacking.

The suspect was restrained by members of the public in a suspected stolen car on the Whiterock Road in west Belfast on Friday morning, 23 September.

A man threatened a woman in a car park close to Millennium Way, took her keys and made off in the Peugeot 207 car.

A short time later the vehicle was reported driving dangerously on the Whiterock Road.

Members of the public restrained the suspect at the scene until the police arrived.

He is currently being detained in custody.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Man Arrested Over Paramilitary-Style Shooting In L'Derry
A man has been arrested in connection with a paramilitary-style shooting in Co L'Derry. A 33-year-old man was shot in the legs and abdomen in the Lisfannon Park area on Tuesday, 08 August. Police described the assault as "brutal and horrific". The 43-year-old suspect was detained in L'Derry on Tuesday, 15 August.

Man Charged With Attempted Murder Of Police Officer
A man has been charged with the attempted murder of an off duty policeman in Co Tyrone in 2008. The 44-year-old suspect is due to appear in Dungannon Magistrates' Court today, 04 December. The officer was driving from his home in Castlederg to start a night shift when a dissident republican bomb which was place under his car exploded.

Man Dies In Co L'Derry House Fire
A man aged in his 50s has died in a house fire in Magherafelt, Co L'Derry An investigation has been launched into the cause of the fire at a house on Highfield Road, however police said that they don't believe the fire was suspicious. The man's identity has not yet been released.

Police suspect republican involvement in bar blaze
Police suspect republican paramilitaries were behind an arson attack on a bar in Co Tyrone on Thursday night. A gang of men, who entered Katy Daly's bar in Strabane at around 8.30pm on Thursday evening, told customers to leave before they dowsed the interior of the pub with what was thought to be petrol and set it alight.
