Mark Allen Knocked Out Of UK Snooker Championship
Antrim man Mark Allen has been knocked out of the UK Snooker Championship in York.
He was beaten 6-3 by Scotland's John Higgins in the last 16.
Allen drew level with Higgins before the mid-session interval, however Higgins pushed ahead and secured a spot in the quarter finals.
Higgins will now play against Mark Selby.
After the match Allen tweeted: "Disappointed to lose but when you're on top against one of the best you have to make it count. Missed chances at start of frame 6 cost me!!"

Communities Minister Gordon Lyons has met with the UK's other Sports Ministers in Glasgow to discuss strategic priorities for sport across the UK. Following the meeting, Minister Lyons said: "It was great to meet my counterparts from other parts of the UK and to share our vision for sport into the future.

Northern Ireland was the fastest-growing region of the UK for newly registered companies in 2023, according to a new index from Ulster Bank and Beauhurst. The New Startup Index highlights how in 2023 Northern Ireland gained 14,000 new companies, a 59% increase on 2022.
