Pensioner and Two Children Escape Injury After Shot Fired At House
A pensioner and two children have escaped injury after a shot was fired at a property in Carrickfergus, Co Antrim.
The incident happened at a house in the Woodburn Avenue area just after 9.30pm on Wednesday, 18 January.
The front door of the property was significantly damaged.
Two men were seen fleeing from the house.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Man Pleads Guilty To Number Of Sexual Offences Against Children
A 31-year-old man who travelled to Belfast to meet what he thought was a 13-year-old girl, has pleaded guilty to a number of sexual abuse offences against children. Anil Patel pled guilty to attempted sexual communication with a child, arranging the commission of a child sex offence and possessing extreme pornography of children.

The Department of Health has been engaged in a week detailed discussions on the current situation at NI Children's Hospice (NICH) , including direct engagement with the Hospice itself. Minister for Health, Robin Swann, has said that it is clear that the financial pressures facing NICH go much deeper than any reduction of Departmental support.
