Met Office Issues Yellow Weather Warning

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning of heavy rain and possible flooding for eastern parts of Northern Ireland.

The warning has been put in place from 5pm on Friday, 03 February, until 2pm on Saturday, 04 February.

A spokesperson from the Met Office said: "A band of heavy rain will move north across the warning area with widespread 15-20 mm, isolated 30 mm, expected in a 6 to 9 hour period. There is some uncertainty regarding the exact westward extent of the heavy rain. Additionally, a spell of snow will bring a few centimetres to high ground, mainly above 200 metres, but some temporary accumulations are also possible at lower levels for a time during the evening."

Driving conditions are also expected to be difficult due to surface water and spray on the roads.
