Man Shot In West Belfast

A man is being treated in hospital after being shot in the legs in west Belfast.

The incident happened close to the jobs and benefits office on the Falls Road at around 8.30pm on Wednesday, 15 February.

The victim is being treated in hospital where he is believed to be in a stable condition.

Police have launched an investigation and are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Alliance west Belfast candidate Sorcha Eastwood said it was a "barbaric attack".

She said: "There can be no excuse for bringing guns onto the streets of West Belfast. The shooting of a man on the Falls Road needs to be condemned without reservation. I hope this man makes a speedy recovery and I send him my best wishes."
