Weather Warning For Ice Issued Across NI

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for ice across Northern Ireland.

The alert has been put in place from 6pm on Thursday, 23 February, until 9am on Friday, 24 February.

Icy stretches are expected to form on untreated roads as temperatures plummet to -1 degrees overnight.

Wintry showers could also give snow on higher ground.

A spokesperson from the Met Office said: "As the more persistent rain, sleet and snow clears on Thursday afternoon and evening, temperatures will fall quickly and untreated surfaces will freeze, with ice forming, especially in areas with snow cover."

Motorists are being urged to take care on the roads.
