Clinton Urges Political Leaders To Restore The Power-Sharing Govt

Former US President Bill Clinton has urged political leaders to restore the power-sharing government at the funeral of Martin McGuinness.

He was speaking to mourners who attended the funeral of the former Deputy First Minister in L'Derry on Thursday, 23 March.

Speaking about Mr McGuinness, Mr Clinton said: "He persevered and he prevailed. He risked the wrath of his comrades and the rejection of his adversaries. He made honourable compromises and was strong enough to keep them and came to be trusted because his word was good.

"If you want to continue his legacy, go and finish the work he has started."

Mr McGuinness died following a short illness on Tuesday, 21 March.
