Rory McIlroy Extends Deal With Nike

Co Down golfer Rory McIlroy has extended his clothing contract with Nike.

McIlroy signed a deal in 2013 and he has entered a contract for a further ten years.

The firm announced last year that it would no longer produces clubs and balls and is to focus on golf clothing and footwear.

Taking to Twitter McIlroy wrote: "Looking forward to the next 10+ years as a @nike athlete!"

New £575,000 Immersive Technologies Challenge Fund Announced
A new £575,000 Augment the City Challenge Fund has been announced to support innovation in immersive technologies. Belfast City Council has announced that significant progress has been made on the £1 billion Belfast Region City Deal. Planning has been approved for Newtownabbey's Factory of the Future sit at Global Point and the contract for pre-construction has been awarded for this key component of the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre.

DUP Agrees Deal To End Boycott Of NI Powersharing
After a 23-month break, powersharing in Northern Ireland will be restored following a decision by the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP). The DUP had been blocking a functioning assembly and executive due to concerns about post-Brexit trade arrangements.

22-Year-Old Man Jailed For Rape At Laganside Crown Court
A 22-year-old man has been sentenced to six years for rape at Laganside Crown Court. Ahmad Alsbaihi was sentenced to six years. He will serve three years in custody and three years on licence. He will be placed on the Sex Offenders Register and will be subject to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) for 10 years.

'Deeply Concerning' DoH Has Ended Nexus NI Contract – SF
Sinn Féin has said that it is "deeply concerning" that the Department of Health has ended the contract of Nexus NI for specialist counselling services. Linda Dillon MLA said: "I am deeply concerned that the Department of Health has ended the contract of Nexus NI for specialist counselling services for victims of sexual abuse and violence.
