Woman Arrested On Suspicion Of Assisting A Prisoner
A 33-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of assisting a prisoner who was released in error from Maghaberry, just outside Lisburn.
Michael Smith, 38, was mistakenly released on 07 March while on remand for murder.
Police arrested him in the Carryduff area in south Belfast on Wednesday, 05 April.
The woman has been detained on suspicion of withholding information and is being questioned at Musgrave police station.

Drugs, Paraphernalia And Cash Seized In L'Derry Searches
Suspected Class B drugs with an estimated street value of £10,000 has been seized during a search operation in the Waterside are of L'Derry on Monday, 08 April. District Support Team (DST) officers made the seizures, assisted by Tactical Support Group colleagues, during two searches at addresses yesterday morning.

Appeal Following Serious Assault And Robbery In Antrim
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information and witnesses after a man was assaulted and robbed in Antrim during the early hours of Monday, 18 March. The 26-year-old was walking in an alleyway adjacent to Seacash Drive at around 3.50am when he was approached by two men.

The PSNI Chief Constable has said that he is committed to working with the family of Sean Browne and others impacted by the disclosure limitations of the coronial process. Chief Constable, Jon Boutcher, made the commitment as he acknowledged the comments of the Coroner on the murder of GAA Official, Sean Browne, in 1997.

NI Man Jailed For Use Of Criminal Encrypted Communication Channel
A 44-year-old man has been sentenced to a total of 12 years for offences linked to EncroChat – an encrypted communication channel used by criminals. Michael O'Loughlin was arrested in 2020 following the search of a property as part of Operation Venetic, a UK wide operation by the National Crime Agency (NCA) designed to "dismantle EncroChat".
