Victim Of Fatal Road Collision In Co Antrim Named

The victim of a fatal road crash in Crumlin, Co Antrim, has been named as Emmanuel Caddell, police have confirmed.

Mr Caddell, 22, died following the two-vehicle collision involving a car and a lorry on Monday, 10 April.

The incident happened on the Manse Road at around 10.50am.

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

Man Arrested After Firearm And Ammunition Found In Co Down
A man has been arrested after police found a firearm and ammunition in Newtownards, Co Down. Officers from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force carried out a search in the Mark Street area on Monday, 08 January. The 27-year-old suspect has been detained in police custody. He is currently being questioned at Musgrave Police Station.

Man Killed In Co Antrim Road Crash Named
A 23-year-old man who was killed in a car crash in Co Antrim has been named. Michael Cusick from Belfast died in a single-vehicle collision which occurred on the Randox Road in the Crumlin area on Thursday night, 01 September. The Randox Road and Nutts Corner Road have now been re-opened.

Police Attacked During Security Alert In L'Derry
Police have been attacked during a hoax security alert in Co L'Derry. Petrol bombs and fireworks were thrown by a group of people after the PSNI were attending the scene at the Lecky Road flyover on Sunday, 07 January. No injuries were reported. A suspicious device was reported under the flyover, however it was found to be a hoax.

Eiré Road Crashes Claim Many Lives
Gardaí are continuing with investigations into a number of fatal road traffic collisions that occurred over the weekend. A female in her 50s was killed after she was struck by a truck in Dingle on Inch Strand shortly before 10am on Saturday. She was named as Gena Hill of Springfield, Kentucky, USA.

Man Dies In Co Antrim Road Crash
A man has died in a collision in Co Antrim. The crash happened on the Tornagrough Road in Hannahstown just before 8am on Wednesday, 27 September. Police are working to establish the circumstances of the collision and identify all of the vehicles involved. The PSNI are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

Two die in separate road accidents
Two people have died and four were injured in two separate road accidents yesterday. In the first incident, a 30-year-old man died in hospital following a collision in County Antrim shortly after 3pm yesterday.

Appeal After Crumlin Road Attack
Detectives from Antrim Road CID have appealed for witnesses following an assault and robbery in the Crumlin road Tennent street area in the early hours of Saturday. At around 2am a 16-year-old male was attacked by four unknown youths who threatened him with a knife and stole his mobile phone.

Road death figures are lowest in 50 years
Figures released today by the Department of the Environment have revealed that road deaths in Northern Ireland last year were at the lowest level in 50 years. The total number of road deaths in 2005 totalled 136, the lowest number since 1952 when 133 people lost their lives at at time when there was one eighth of the number of vehicles on the road.

Weekend road victim named
Police have released the name of a 44-year old man who was killed in a road traffic incident at the weekend. Jim Donaghy, from the Donegal Road area of South Belfast, died after the motorbike he was driving was in collision with a car on Sunday afternoon. The incident happened at around 2.30pm in the Temple area of Carryduff.

Woman Killed In Co Armagh Road Collision
A woman in her 30s has been killed in a road crash in Portadown, Co Armagh. The woman was hit by a car as she was walking on the side of the Moy Road at around 9.45pm on Tuesday. The road was closed for a short time but it has been reopened. Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.

Man Charged In Possession Of Heroin
A man is to appear in court charged in possession of heroin. Police arrested five people during searches of a property in Newry on Wednesday, 16 January. Two men have also been charged in possession of a Class A drug. A 50-year-old woman has also been charged with permitting premises to be used for the supply of a Class A drug.

Cigarettes Stolen During Burglary In East Belfast
An investigation has been launched after a quantity of cigarettes were stolen during a burglary in east Belfast. The incident is believed to have happened at commercial premises in the Craigleith Drive area after 10pm on Wednesday, 17 January. It was reported to the police shortly before 6am on Thursday, 18 January.

Coast Road Crash Victim Named
Police have reported that one man has died in a crash on the scenic Antrim Coast Road (pictured here) this morning. The victim, just named as Scott Brady, 29 and from nearby Larne, was killed when his car was involved in the single vehicle accident. It happened near Ballygally at about 8.

Road death victim named
A 25-year-old woman has died following a road traffic accident in Co Down on Thursday. The victim, named as Olive McGinn, a teacher from Bessbrook, was driving a car which was involved in a collision with another car and a lorry near the Bernish Road, Newry, three-quarters of a mile from the Forkhill roundabout, at 5pm.

Woman Convicted Of Benefit Fraud A woman has been convicted for claiming benefits she was not entitled to at Newtownards Magistrates' Court. Julie Armstrong claimed Income Support totalling £2,328 while failing to declare employment. She was given a £200 fine plus a £16 offenders levy.
