Man Injured In North Belfast Assault

Police in Belfast have appealed for information after a man was badly beaten by a gang of masked men armed with metal rods.

It is understood that the 29-year-old victim suffered serious injuries when he was attacked in the Forster Street area of north Belfast on Wednesday, 19 April.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact police.

Work Continues On Ebrington Redevelopment In L'Derry

Work is continuing on the redevelopment of the former Ebrington military site in L'Derry.

The 10.5-hectare area is being transformed into an area comprising of a museum, hotel, office space, cafés and restaurants, as well as residential accommodation.

Following a recent tour of the site, John Boyle, Chairman of the Planning Committee, said: "This is just one of a number of hugely important developments at Ebrington that is enhancing and regenerating listed buildings that form part of a key cluster of landmark buildings and spaces that are significant to our built heritage.

"Ebrington as a former military barracks that dates back to the 1840s and covers a space of 26 acres/10.5 hectares, is of significant historic importance to this city. It contains a number of listed buildings and is a key site for the economic development and regeneration of Derry and the wider City North West region."

Digger Stolen In England Discovered In Co Armagh

A £100,000 digger stolen in England earlier this month has been recovered from a yard in Co Armagh.

Posting to Facebook, the PSNI said that the digger was discovered on the yard as it executed a search warrant on Wednesday, 19 April. A man has been arrested in connection with the discovery.

Police said: "We know the pain and frustration victims of machinery theft are caused.

"Agricultural/plant theft ruins livelihoods and ultimately hurts us all. We're committed to hitting back, hunting suspects down, and retrieving stolen machinery where at all possible.

"If you know anything about stolen machinery or plant theft, call us on 101. Make that difference. Help fight back for those who work hard against those who take for themselves."

Man Arrested In Connection With 1992 Police Officer Murder
A 59-year-old man has been arrested at Birmingham Airport in connection with a fatal mortar attack in Newry in 1992. The man was arrested on Wednesday, 21 February by detectives from PSNI's Legacy Investigation Branch, investigating the murder of Constable Colleen McMurray and the attempted murder of her colleague in 1992.

Man Arrested After Using Van To Attack Police Officers
The PSNI has condemned an incident in which a man used a van to repeatedly ram a police patrol car and attempted to run over an officer in Newry on Saturday, 03 February. Shortly after 11:20pm, officers on patrol approached a man standing beside a white Peugeot van in the Castlekeele Estate area.

Men Sentenced For Ballymena Drug And Money Laundering Operation
