Police Appeal For Witnesses To Ballymena Petrol Bomb Attack
Police in Ballymena have issued an appeal for witnesses following a petrol bomb attack on a house in the town earlier today, Friday 21 April.
Detective Chief Inspector Dunny McCubbin said: "We believe that a petrol bomb was thrown at the property around 3.45am this morning. Three adults and a 12 year old boy who were in the house at the time were uninjured.
"A window in the house was smashed and scorch damage caused to an exterior wall. Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the early hours of the morning should contact detectives at Ballymena on the non-emergency police number 101."
BCC Wins Good Governance Award
Belfast City Council has won the Good Governance Award at the inaugural Public Finance Innovation Awards
The council was given the award for its leadership in spearheading the city's digital reboot programme, Super Connected.
Speaking of the team's efforts, the judges said: "This was a high-profile, challenging project with stakeholders from across Northern Ireland's public sector. The city council took the lead using their mature governance arrangements and there has been clear commitment to sustainability and social inclusion as well as innovation and growth."
The Lord Mayor of Belfast, Alderman Brian Kingston, said: "Over the past few years, the digital services team at Belfast City Council have been at the forefront of the Super Connected project, which has been designed to make the internet as accessible as possible to as many people as possible, whether they live or work in the city or are visitors here. This has included assisting businesses and community organisations to get connected, the installation of free wi-fi in all of the Council's public buildings and the development of free wi-fi hotspots across the city. I congratulate the team on this well-deserved award."
Body Recovered From River Foyle Confirmed As Missing Teen
A body recovered from the Rover Foyle in L'Derry on Tuesday has been confirmed as that of 18-year-old Dean Millar, police have confirmed.
The teenager had been missing since 11 March.
Dean's family had been carrying out searches of the river since his disappearance.

Primark Donates £500,000 To Support Businesses Affected By Fire
Retailer Primark is donating £500,000 to Belfast City Council's City Recovery Investment Fund. The fund is being set up after a number of businesses have been severely affected by the fire at the Bank Buildings which happened over three weeks ago. A cordon remains in place and 14 firms have been closed for up to four months.

The Chairman of Belfast City Council’s Good Relations Steering Panel has challenged claims that the Council is not supporting St Patrick’s Day in Belfast. It follows a protest outside Belfast City Hall last week by the St Patrick's Carnival Committee who claim the Council isn't funding this year's event at the City Hall.
