Five Men Rescued From Yacht On Strangford Lough

Five men have been rescued after getting into difficulty on Strangford Lough.

The RNLI lifeboat was launched in Co Down at around 8.45pm on Thursday, 04 May.

The men, who were on board a seven metre yacht, were escorted back into the safe waters of Ringhaddy Sound. No injuries were reported.

It is the second incident in two days. Seven people were also rescued by the RNLI after becoming stranded on two islands on Wednesday, 03 May.

Seven People Rescued From Two Islands In Strangford Lough
Seven people have been rescued by the RNLI after coming stranded on two islands in Strangford Lough. Five men and two women had been sailing around the lough on Wednesday, 03 May, and dropped three of them off at Green Island. The cabin cruiser they were in developed electrical problems as it made its way to Salt Island.

Two Jet Skiers Rescued In Limavady
Portrush RNLI has rescued two jet skiers after the got into difficulties at Benone Beach, Co Londonderry. The alert was raised by a friend of the two men, who noticed that one had fallen off the jet ski and into the water. The weather conditions at the time were blustery and chilly, and the sea was choppy and extremely cold.
