Man Extradited From France Over Alleged Rape

A man has been extradited from France to Northern Ireland over an alleged rape.

The 26-year-old Romanian national was extradited from Lyon using a European Arrest Warrant.

A spokesperson from the PSNI said: "The man is sought for trial in Northern Ireland following an alleged offence of rape in the Portadown area in 2014."

He is due to appear at Laganside Magistrates Court on Friday, 12 May.

Man Extradited From Poland To NI To Stand Trial For Alleged Child Sex Offences
A 59-year old man that has been extradited from Poland to Northern Ireland is to stand trial for sexual offences against children today, 31 January. Officers from the PSNI's International Policing Unit extradited the man yesterday, 30 January, ahead of his expected appearance before Downpatrick Crown Court today.
