Woman Dies In House Fire In L'Derry

A woman has died in a house fire in Co L'Derry.

The blaze was reported at a property in the Grange Park area of Limavady at around 6.25am on Monday, 17 July.

Emergency services attended however the woman, aged in her 50s, was found dead at the scene.

An investigation has been launched.

Sinn Féin MLA Caoimhe Archibald said: "The whole community is shocked by this tragic incident.

"This is a deeply tragic event and my thoughts and sympathies are with the family and friends of the woman.

"I wish to pay tribute to the emergency services who attended the scene for their professionalism and their efforts."

Health Minister Robin Swann has announced the opening of a new £1.8 million unit at Causeway Hospital, giving patients timely and direct access to surgical assessment, diagnostics and a treatment plan. The new surgical ambulatory unit will help reduce hospital admissions and attendances at Emergency Departments.

Woman 'Stable' After Falling From Cliff At Cavehill
A 20-year-old woman is in a stable condition in hospital after she fell from a cliff at Cavehill in Belfast. Emergency services attended the scene after the woman is believed to have fell from Napoleon's Nose on Wednesday, 23 November. It is understood the alarm was raised at around 2.30pm.

Part Of M1 Reopens Following Collision
Part of the M1 motorway towards Belfast, which was closed following a four-vehicle collision, has reopened. The crash happened at the Saintfield Road junction on Tuesday morning. Police and the emergency services attended the scene, however no-one is believed to have been injured.
