Investigation Launched After Sudden Death Of Teenager In Portadown

Police have launched an investigation following the sudden death of a teenager in Portadown.

It is believed the body of the 16-year-old boy was found at his house on Tuesday, 22 August.

A post-mortem examination is to be carried out to determine the cause of his death.

No further details have been released.

Second Man Released In Denis Donaldson Murder Investigation
A second man arrested in connection with the murder of MI5 agent Denis Donaldson has been released without charge. Mr Donaldson, aged 55, who was a senior Sinn Fein official, was fatally shot at a cottage in Co Donegal in 2006 after being exposed as a British spy.

Investigation Launched Following Suspected Hit And Run In East Belfast
An investigation has been launched following a suspected hit and run collision in east Belfast. A woman and a young girl were knocked down at a pedestrian crossing on the Newtownards Road at around 8pm on Wednesday, 10 January. The black car failed to stay at the scene and made off in the direction of Dundonald.

Investigation Launched Following Two Burglaries In Co Down
Police have launched an investigation following two burglaries in Co Down. The PSNI believes that both burglaries in Holywood may be linked and have released a description of two males. In the first incident, a sum of cash was stolen as well as a safe, a PlayStation 4 with games and a clock.

Charity calls for cardiac checks in NI
A leading local charity has expressed concern that measures to combat sudden cardiac deaths will be introduced in England but not in Northern Ireland. The Health Secretary, Dr John Reid, recently announced that screening will be introduced for close family members of sudden cardiac death syndrome victims in England.

An investigation has been launched by the PSNI following the sudden death of a teenage girl in Bangor on Saturday. 16-year-old Gaenor Thompson was a pupil at Bangor Academy. The police said a post-mortem is being carried out to determine the cause of her death.

The Roads Service £120,000 improvement scheme being delivered in conjunction with the Lurgan Environmental scheme at Edward Street in the town is set to move into its second phase. Woman Dies In Garage Fire At Portadown Home
A woman has died after a fire in the garage of a house in Portadown, County Armagh. The fire at Oakleigh Park, off the Brownstown Road, was reported to police shortly after 07:20 GMT on Monday. Police and firefighters are still at the scene and are investigating the cause of the fire. The woman's name has not yet been released.

HSE Investigate Sudden Death In Co Antrim
An investigation has been launched into the sudden death of a man in Doagh, Co Antrim. Police were called to commercial premises on the Kilbride Road at about 21:00 on Tuesday. It is understood that a 57-year-old man has died. A post-mortem is due to be carried out to establish the cause of death.

Two Men Arrested Over Alleged Death Threats To Darren Kelly
Two men have been arrested over alleged death threats sent to Oldham manager Darren Kelly from Northern Ireland. Greater Manchester Police arrested a 27-year-old man and 42-year-old man on suspicion of making threats to kill. They are being detained by the police for questioning.
