Man Charged With Attempted Murder

A man has been charged with attempted murder and a number of other offences in connection with incidents in Larne.

A car ploughed through the gates of a property in the Brustin Brae Road area and was set on fire in the early hours of Monday, 11 September.

Shot were also fired through the windows of the house while a woman and three children were inside. No-one was injured.

The 30-year-old suspect has been charged with hijacking and aggravated vehicle taking.

He has also been charged with attempted aggravated burglary and possession of an offensive weapon in the Antrim area last month and with criminal damage and possession of an offensive weapon linked to incidents at Victoria Road in Larne on 29 August.

He is to appear before Ballymena Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, 13 September.

A 30-year-old woman has also been charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice linked to the incidents on Monday.

A delivery driver has been robbed after a man, pointed a suspected gun at him, in north Belfast. The incident happened in the Ballysillan area shortly after 3am on Friday, 16 February. Two people have been left in shock after an armed gang forced their way into their him in Belfast. The incident happened in the Meadow Place area shortly before 9pm on Monday, 05 February. One of the suspects was armed with a hammer. They searched the property and made off on foot. A man was taken to hospital to be treated for shock.

Appeal Issued To Help Trace Missing 21-Year-Old Woman
Police have issued an appeal for information to help trace a missing 21-year-old woman. Miss Niamh McDowell was last seen at Craigavon Area Hospital at around 9.20am on Monday, 19 February. She is described as being around 5ft 5inches in height, with long brown hair and is believed to have been wearing black leggings and a black hoodie.

Two Gunmen Involved In Murder Of Raymond Johnston
Two gunmen were involved in the murder of Raymond Johnston, according to the PSNI. Mr Johnston, aged 28, was shot in front of his partner and child in the Poleglass area of west Belfast shortly before 8pm on Tuesday, 13 February. Woman 'Critical' After Collision In Armagh
A woman, aged in her 20s, is in a critical condition in hospital after a one-vehicle crash just outside Armagh. The collision happened on the Moy Road at around 2.30am on Thursday, 15 February. The victim's white Mercedes Sport crashed near to the Ballygassoon Road junction. The road has been reopened.

Man Attacked In East Belfast
A man is being treated in hospital after being assaulted in east Belfast. The incident happened outside licensed premises in the Upper Newtownards Road area at around 1.30am on Sunday, 04 February. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Woman Arrested On Suspicion Of Human Trafficking
A 29-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of human trafficking for sexual exploitation and controlling prostitution in Co Down. The suspect was detained in the Tandragee Road area of Newry on Saturday, 03 February. She has also been accused of money laundering.

PSNI Issue Warning To Students After 'Partying' In The Holylands Area
The PSNI have issued a warning to students after a group of 50 to 100 adults were partying in the street in the Holylands area of south Belfast at around 3am on Tuesday, 30 January. The students also lit a fire and were playing very loud music.

Police Appeal For Dash-Cam Footage Over Raymond Johnston Murder
Police investigating the murder of Raymond Johnston have made an appeal to drivers with dash cams to check their footage. Mr Johnston, aged 28, was fatally shot in front of his partner and son at a house in the Glenbawn Avenue in the Poleglass area shortly before 8pm on Tuesday, 13 February.

Man Stabbed In North Belfast
A man has been injured after being stabbed in north Belfast. The attack happened on the Antrim Road just after midnight on Friday, 09 February. A 23-year-old man was stabbed in the abdomen and a 22-year-old woman sustained a small cut to her face. The man is receiving hospital treatment. Sinn Féin Councillor JJ Magee condemned the attack.

PSNI Release Name Of Man Killed In Enniskillen Crash
Police have released the name of a man who was killed in a collision in Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh. Gary Douglas, aged 44, was originally from Liverpool. He had been living in Lisbellaw for several years. The crash happened on the Belfast Road and was reported on Tuesday, 06 February.
