Man Charged With Attempted Murder

A man has been charged with attempted murder and a number of other offences in connection with incidents in Larne.

A car ploughed through the gates of a property in the Brustin Brae Road area and was set on fire in the early hours of Monday, 11 September.

Shot were also fired through the windows of the house while a woman and three children were inside. No-one was injured.

The 30-year-old suspect has been charged with hijacking and aggravated vehicle taking.

He has also been charged with attempted aggravated burglary and possession of an offensive weapon in the Antrim area last month and with criminal damage and possession of an offensive weapon linked to incidents at Victoria Road in Larne on 29 August.

He is to appear before Ballymena Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, 13 September.

A 30-year-old woman has also been charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice linked to the incidents on Monday.
