Man Shot In Paramilitary Style Attack In North Belfast

A man has been shot in a paramilitary style attack in north Belfast.

The attack happened in Valsheda Court in the Ardoyne area on Monday, 02 October.

The victim, aged 30, was shot in both legs.

His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Sinn Féin Councillor Gerry McCabe said: "A man was shot in the legs tonight in Velsheda Court in Ardoyne.

"I condemn this shooting outright.

"There can be no place for these type of actions in our society.

"The people responsible need to end their campaign against the community.

"I would encourage anyone with information to bring it forward to the police."

SDLP North Belfast MLA Nichola Mallon said: "This attack in Ardoyne last night is a throwback to a time that people here want to leave in the past.

"There is no place for guns on our streets and there is no place for those who see fit to issue rough justice in this society.

"I would appeal to anyone with information to come forward to police as soon as possible."

Appeal Issued Over Hit And Run In West Belfast
Police are appealing for information following a hit and run incident in west Belfast. The incident happened on the Suffolk Road on Friday, 15 September. The PSNI are seeking to trace a silver or grey car that was involved in the collision. A pedestrian was injured and had to receive hospital treatment.

Man Shot In North Belfast
A man is being treated in hospital following a shooting incident in north Belfast. Police have reported that a 20-year-old man was injured in a paramilitary-style shooting at about 01:00 on Monday morning at Havana Walk in Ardoyne. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening. An investigation into the shooting is underway.

Abducted Man Shot In Ardoyne
A 23-year-old man was shot last night after being abducted on Ardoyne Avenue, in north Belfast, writes Carla Liébana. Police said he was bundled into a small red van by two men wearing balaclavas. He was then driven to an entry off Highbury Gardens, where he was shot once in his right leg. His attackers then made off along Berwick Road.

Police have launched an appeal to help trace a missing 15-year-old from west Belfast. Gerard McCabe has been reported missing by his family and police have raised concerns. A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police are concerned for Gerard McCabe who has been reported missing by his family. He is 15 years of age and from West Belfast.

Man Shot Dead In West Belfast
Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was shot dead in west Belfast. The attack happened at a house in Glenwood Court, Poleglass, at around 8.15pm on Thursday, 20 October. He has been named locally as Joe Reilly, aged 43.

Warning Issued Over Suspicious Object In North Belfast
The PSNI have issued a warning to the public not to touch any suspicious objects in north Belfast. It follows reports that a pipe-bomb type device was left at the junction of Glenrosa Link and Upper Canning Street. Extensive searches have been carried out, however nothing has been found.

Teenager Threatened With 'Large Knife' In North Belfast
Police have launched an investigation after a teenager was threatened with a knife in north Belfast. The 15-year-old was cycling in the Brown Street area with his pals at around 10pm on Monday, 25 September. He was approached by a man on a bicycle who was armed with a knife. He demanded the teen to hand over his bike and made off.

A man has been shot in both of his legs in a paramilitary style attack in west Belfast. The incident occurred in the Lady Street area on Tuesday night. Two men made off on foot in the direction of McDonnell Street, according to the police.

A man has been shot in his legs and ankles in west Belfast. The attack happened in Creeslough Gardens on Tuesday at around 23.00. The 36-year-old is currently in hospital. Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

The family of a 17-year-old man, who was injured during a shooting in west Belfast this morning, have claimed that the incident was linked to an ongoing feud in the area. Wayne McComb suffered a gunshot wound to his leg as he walked along the Whiterock Road area of the city just after 8am.

Police in east Belfast are appealing for information after a man was shot in a paramilitary style attack last night. The 27-year-old victim was in the Victoria Park area of the city when the incident happened. He suffered a gunshot wound to his left leg and was taken to hospital where his condition is not thought to be life threatening.

A 22-year-old man has been shot in a paramilitary style attack in North Belfast. The man was approached by up to three masked men while he was walking in the Braehill Park area of the city just before midnight on Sunday. The attackers dragged the victim into a nearby alleyway, where he was shot in both legs.
