Appeal Issued Over Murder Of Anne O'Neill

Police are appealing for information over the murder of Anne O'Neill.

The 51-year-old died after sustaining head injuries at a house on Ardmore Avenue in Finaghy on Saturday, 21 October.

Police have been granted additional time to question two men, aged 23 and 27.

Detective Chief Inspector Geoffrey Boyce said: "I am appealing for anyone who resides in the Ardmore Avenue and Ardmore Park area of Finaghy and who have CCTV installed at their address to contact detectives at Musgrave Police Station on 101 quoting reference 338 21/10/17."

Sinn Féin MLA Máirtín Ó Muilleoir said: "I have spoken with residents of Ardmore who were woken by a woman's screams around 7am.

"There is real shock and distress in the area at the news of this murder. I would appeal to anyone who can help bring the perpetrator or perpetrators to book to work closely with the PSNI."

Additional Time Granted To Question Man Over Murder Of Anne O'Neill
Police have been granted additional time to question a 27-year-old man over the murder of Anne O'Neill in Finaghy. A 23-year-old man who was arrested has been released on police bail. The 51-year-old victim sustained injuries and she died in the back garden of the property in the Ardmore Avenue area on Saturday, 21 October.

One person dies in Co Down RTC
One person has died following a serious road traffic collision in Co Down at the weekend. Shortly after midnight on Saturday, a Citroen Berlingo van, a Citroen Xsara car and a VW Polo car were in collision on the Camlough Road, Newry. The male driver of the van was fatally injured in the collision.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.
