Antares Vision To Create 53 Jobs

Antares Vision has announced that it is to establish a Software Development Centre in Co Galway, creating 53 jobs.

The jobs will be filled over a five-year period in Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence.

Founded in 2007, the company is privately owned and headquartered in Travagliato near Brescia, Italy. Antares Vision specialise in Computer Vision Systems where cameras and sensors capture and elaborate images at high speed to identify possible defects on products.

The business designs, produces and installs inspection track and trace systems for security, traceability and regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical sector.

Its new Software Development Centre in Galway will have a strategic focus on developing new software tools to enhance capability in Antares Vision system by utilising Deep Machine Learning applied to Computer Vision.

Initially, Antares Vision will be established at the Galway Technology Centre at Mervue Business Park and is expected to hire more than 50 employees in five years. The new operation will have a mix of roles including junior and senior software developers and researchers.

Emidio Zorzella, Chief Executive Officer, Antares Vision, said: "This step confirms the design of Antares Vision in international growth. Today we are present in a direct way in Italy, Brazil, United States, France, Germany, South Korea and soon in India, furthermore the global coverage involves a network of partners in a capillary way. In Galway, unlike in the past, Antares Vision opens a centre exclusively dedicated to R&D, a further sign of progressive and solid growth."

Minister for Business, Enterprise & Innovation, Heather Humpreys TD, added: "This is a very exciting project for Galway and the West Region and will add to our pool of cutting-edge technologies. Antares Vision is creating a centre exclusively dedicated to R&D with over 50 jobs for software developers and researchers over the next five years."

The project is being supported by the Irish Government through IDA Ireland.
