Yellow Warning For Ice Issued Across NI

A yellow weather warning for ice has been issued across Northern Ireland.

The alert has been put in place from 4pm on Wednesday, 13 December, until 11am on Thursday, 14 December.

Ice is expected to form on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths with some slippery surfaces likely. There is also a small chance of travel disruption across parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland.

A Met Office spokesperson said: "Most of the snow accumulations will occur above 200 m where 2-5 cm is likely in places, mainly over higher parts of western Scotland and Northern Ireland where greater amounts are likely at higher elevations. However, 1-2 cm is possible at low levels very locally where heavier showers occur."
