Bridging for Innovators Programme Launched
The Science Technology Facilities Council (STFC) has announced a new Bridging for Innovators (B4I) programme, due to run until March 2021 and funded by the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund and will run until March 2021.
B4I aims to help companies overcome difficult product, manufacturing or process performance issues by leveraging more than £2 billion worth of government investment in large-scale scientific infrastructure.
The programme will give companies access to advanced analytical technologies, supporting expertise and capabilities through STFC's large-scale science facilities located at the various campuses around the UK, including Harwell, Daresbury and the Royal Observatory in Edinburgh.
This is a unique opportunity which could lead to significant developments in a business. Companies wishing to apply for B4I must:
• be a registered UK-based business (of any size)
• have a manufacturing base for the relevant product in the UK or provide the relevant service in the UK

Knowledge Transfer Network will be facilitating three industry briefings to help business understand the programme, levels of funding available and the facilities on offer.
Cambridge and Birmingham will host two of the events, while the third one will take place in Belfast on Thursday 25 January 2018.

BCC Celebrates First Inclusive Entrepreneurship Focused Programme
A fully-funded programme designed to support pre and early stage entrepreneurs experiencing additional barriers to enterprise, concluded with a celebratory event at Belfast City Hall recently. Fifteen Belfast residents benefited from the enhanced mentoring programme, designed and delivered by The Mind Tribe UK on behalf of Belfast City Council.
