Around 90 Jobs To Go At NIE

Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE) is to reportedly axe around 90 jobs amid "efficiency" plans for the business.

Sinn Fein MLA Cathal Boylan has called for a meeting with the firm to discuss the need to safeguard the welfare of workers.

He said: "Whatever the outcome of this, the lives and livelihoods of employees must be protected."

Offshore Company Axes Jobs
Around 150 jobs in Aberdeen and Dundee have been axed after an offshore services company ceased trading. Oceanteam Power and Umbilical has been forced to close when the firm's holding company withdrew its financial support. Staff are based in Aberdeen, at workshops in Dundee and offshore.

OneSource Virtual To Create 280 Jobs In L'Derry
OneSource Virtual is to create over 280 jobs in L'Derry by 2017. The Texas-based firm is to establish a HR Outsourcing Centre and the 289 jobs include payroll administration, benefits administration and application management services.
