Two Men Arrested Over Historical Child Sexual Abuse

Detectives have arrested two men as part of an investigation into allegations of serious historical child sexual abuse.

Officers from the PSNI's Public Prosecution branch arrested the two suspects, aged 60 and 67, on Thursday, 08 March.

The men were detained in Newtownards and Ardglass.

They are being questioned at Antrim Police station.

Two Men Arrested On Suspicion Of Kidnapping
Police have arrested two men on suspicion of kidnapping. The males, aged 33 and 31, were detained in Co L'Derry. It is believed there arrests are in connection with an incident in the city on Thursday, 26 October. No further details have been released.

Executive Urged To Take Action On Redress Scheme Compensation
The Executive Office has been urged to establish a timeline for the relevant religious organisations to make contributions towards the cost of redress for victims of historical institutional abuse. The SDLP made the call after Barnardo's and the Good Shepherd Sisters announced that they will make an interim payment.

Man Charged In Possession Of Heroin
A man is to appear in court charged in possession of heroin. Police arrested five people during searches of a property in Newry on Wednesday, 16 January. Two men have also been charged in possession of a Class A drug. A 50-year-old woman has also been charged with permitting premises to be used for the supply of a Class A drug.
