Man Found In Moneymore Sustained Gunshot Wound To His Head

A man found injured in Moneymore in L'Derry has sustained a gunshot wound to his head, according to the police.

The 22-year-old victim was discovered slumped in a vehicle in the Carndaisy Road area at around 9.50pm on Friday, 09 March.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Man Injured After Falling From A Cliff In Co Antrim
A man, aged in his 20s, has been airlifted and taken to hospital after falling from a cliff in Co Antrim. The incident happened in Murlough Bay on the north coast on Monday, 19 March. Coastguards attended the scene accompanied by a Rescue 199 helicopter. The man was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital with suspected rib and pelvic injuries.

Former Sinn Féin MP Barry McElduff has been questioned by police over the controversial Kingsmill video he posted on social media. In January, he uploaded a video to Twitter with a loaf of bread on his head on the 42nd anniversary of the Kingsmill massacre in which 10 Protestant men were killed.

Man Arrested In Connection With Raymond Johnston
A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Raymond Johnston. Mr Johnston, aged 28, was shot in front of his partner and child at his house in the Glenbawn Avenue area of Poleglass on 13 February. A 37-year-old man has also been detained by the PSNI under the Terrorism Act.

A man been arrested on suspicion of murder after the deaths of at least three people in a house fire in Co Fermanagh. The blaze happened at a property in the Molly Road area of Derrlin on Tuesday morning, 27 February. The 27-year-old male was detained at the scene and attended hospital to be treated before he was arrested.

Man In Court Over Drugs, Money Laundering And Immigration Offences
A man has been charged with a number of drugs, money laundering and immigration offences. The 51-year-old was arrested following a PSNI operation which also involved police in Sussex and Home Office Immigration officials in London on Monday, 19 February. The suspect was detained and a sum of cash was also seized.

Appeal Issued After Man Attacked In Ballymena
Police are appealing for information after a man sustained facial injuries during an assault in Ballymena. Three men attacked the victim in the Saintfield Place area at around 9.30pm on Wednesday, 14 March. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. The men made off with a sum of money and a mobile phone.

Investigation Launched After Man Stabbed In Craigavon
Police have launched an investigation after a man was stabbed in Craigavon. The attack happened in the Tullygally East Road area on Sunday, 11 March. The victim sustained stab wounds to his hands and leg. Two men were arrested, however police believe they were not involved.

Armed Man Threatens Female Shop Worker In Newry
A masked man, armed with a knife, has threatened a shop worker during a robbery in Newry. The incident happened on the Killeavy Road at around 7.20pm on Tuesday, 13 March. The suspect made off with cash from the till, and the victim was left shaken. The man has been described as being around 5ft 8ins tall and of thin build.

A 33-year-old man has been found with a gunshot wound to his left leg following a paramilitary style attack on Monday. The victim was found shortly after 8pm by ambulance crew in the Ballyduff Brae area of Newtownabbey.

Derry gunshot victim dies in hospital
The 22-year-old man who was shot in the head in Co Londonderry earlier this week has died. Darren Thompson, from Harkness Gardens in the Waterside, was found lying at the roadside in Woodburn Park on Wednesday morning with a bullet wound to the head.

Two Men Arrested Over Historical Child Sexual Abuse
Detectives have arrested two men as part of an investigation into allegations of serious historical child sexual abuse. Officers from the PSNI's Public Prosecution branch arrested the two suspects, aged 60 and 67, on Thursday, 08 March. The men were detained in Newtownards and Ardglass. They are being questioned at Antrim Police station.

A man aged in his 50s has died in a house fire in Magherafelt, Co L'Derry An investigation has been launched into the cause of the fire at a house on Highfield Road, however police said that they don't believe the fire was suspicious. The man's identity has not yet been released.

Stomach Wound Killed Bar Brawl Victim
The trial of the man accused of killing Short Strand man, Robert McCartney has heard that a single stomach wound killed the victim. Belfast Crown Court heard yesterday from the Deputy State Pathologist, Dr Alistair Bentley, who conducted a post mortem on Mr McCartney in February 2005.
