Two Men Arrested On Suspicion Of Murder

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man's body was found in north Belfast.

His body was discovered at a house in the Orient Gardens area on Wednesday, 18 April.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Sinn Fein MLA Gerry said: "News of this death has shocked the local area.

"While the circumstances of the man's death are unclear at this time, the PSNI have stated that they are treating the death as murder.

"I would appeal to anyone with information which may assist the police to bring it forward."

North Belfast MLA Nichola Mallon said: "There is real shock and sadness across North Belfast following the death of a man here. I understand that the police have now opened an investigation.

"The thoughts of all of us in the SDLP are with his family at this difficult time.

"Anyone with any information should contact the police urgently."

Roads death toll rises after Co Antrim crash
A man has died following a serious road accident on the Glenavy Road in Co Antrim. The accident involved a car and lorry on Wednesday afternoon. The road was closed for a time and traffic was diverted from the area. Police investigating the collision are appealing for any witnesses to contact them at Lisburn station on 028 9266 5212.

Two men have been arrested over alleged death threats sent to Oldham manager Darren Kelly from Northern Ireland. Greater Manchester Police arrested a 27-year-old man and 42-year-old man on suspicion of making threats to kill. They are being detained by the police for questioning.

A High Court judge has ruled against a planning decision to build a new £55 million office block in the Markets area of Belfast. Residents and campaigners had longed campaigned against the decision by Belfast City Council, which involved developing 26,000 square metres of offices within a 14-storey tower in the historic Market quarter.

Police Renew Appeal One Year After Man's Death
Police have renewed their appeal on the first anniversary of the death of Sean Corrigan, 31, in west Belfast. Mr Corrigan was found at a flat in the St Mary's Gardens area on Saturday 13 September, 2014. He later died in hospital, however post mortem results found he may have died in suspicious circumstances.

Woman's body found in Antrim
A man has been arrested after a woman's body was found in Co Antrim early this morning. The body of the woman, who was believed to be around 39-years-old, was found at Mallusk Gardens in Antrim shortly before 1.30am on Thursday. Police have appealed for anyone with information on the death to contact them.

Double death tragedy in Halloween shooting
A 47-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman have died in a shooting incident in east Belfast in the early hours of Sunday morning. A 15-year-old girl, the daughter of the woman killed in the shooting, has undergone emergency surgery for two gunshot wounds. Her condition is described as "comfortable".

Police Vehicle Attacked In North Belfast
A police vehicle has been attacked in north Belfast. At around 11.20pm on Sunday, a device was thrown at a police Land Rover in the Twaddell Avenue area of the city. It did not explode. The PSNI have described the attack as a "cold, calculated attempt to kill police officers".

McParland Murder - Woman Released
A woman has been released after being arrested by detectives investigating the murder of Sean McParland in north Belfast in February 1994. The 41-year-old woman was arrested on the morning of Monday 22 September, and taken to the Serious Crime Suite at Antrim Police Station for questioning.

Man arrested after north Belfast fire
A 35-year-old man has been arrested following a house fire in north Belfast. The incident happened at property in the Castleton Gardens area of Skegoneil at around 12pm today. Four police officers and a man were taken to hospital after the incident for treatment for smoke inhalation.

Six police officers hurt in disturbances
East Belfast has seen another night of violence that has left six police officers injured. Shortly before midnight police in the lower Newtownards Road area came under attack from large crowds and were subjected to sustained attack from mobs throwing bricks and petrol bombs.
