Two Men Arrested On Suspicion Of Murder

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man's body was found in north Belfast.

His body was discovered at a house in the Orient Gardens area on Wednesday, 18 April.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Sinn Fein MLA Gerry said: "News of this death has shocked the local area.

"While the circumstances of the man's death are unclear at this time, the PSNI have stated that they are treating the death as murder.

"I would appeal to anyone with information which may assist the police to bring it forward."

North Belfast MLA Nichola Mallon said: "There is real shock and sadness across North Belfast following the death of a man here. I understand that the police have now opened an investigation.

"The thoughts of all of us in the SDLP are with his family at this difficult time.

"Anyone with any information should contact the police urgently."

Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Two Men Arrested Over Alleged Death Threats To Darren Kelly
Two men have been arrested over alleged death threats sent to Oldham manager Darren Kelly from Northern Ireland. Greater Manchester Police arrested a 27-year-old man and 42-year-old man on suspicion of making threats to kill. They are being detained by the police for questioning.
