Elderly Man Assaulted During Burglary In Irvinestown
Police have issued an appeal for witnesses to an aggravated burglary in Irvinestown.
A man, aged in his 60s, was awoken in his home by an intruder, in the early hours of Tuesday 24 April.
The elderly man was punched several times by the intruder, who demanded money. It is understood that he fled the scene with an unknown sum of cash.
Anyone who witnessed anything suspicious or who may have information about the incident is asked to contact police.
Works Continue On Comber Greenway
Work to widen and resurface is continuing on the Comber Greenway, following the announcement of an additional £120,000 funding towards the project.
Widening and resurfacing has recently been completed between Holywood Arches and East Link Road and this latest funding will extend the scheme an extra 1.8 kilometres to Millmount Chase, further enhancing the experience for walkers and cyclists.
For health and safety reasons the Greenway will need to be closed to the public while the work takes place, however diversionary routes have been identified and will be signposted in order to minimise any inconvenience to the public.
Worker Falls From Athletic Stores Scaffolding
An investigation has been launched after a man fell from scaffolding at the former Athletic Stores in Belfast city centre.
According to reports the man fell from the fourth floor of the building on Queen Street. The workman is said to have suffered injuries to his arms and legs and continues to be treated in hospital, where his injuries are said to not be life-threatening.

Man Due In Court Charged With Kevin Conway Murder
A 27-year-old man is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates' Court today, Monday, 29 January, charged with the murder of Kevin Conway. The man was arrested in west Belfast on 09 January, by detectives investigating the murder. Police have said that as is usual procedure, the charge will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
