Mother and daughter escape injury in gun attack

A woman and her seven-year-old daughter have escaped injury following a gun attack at their home in Derry City.

Around four shots were fired into the house in the Bond Street area shortly before 11pm on Sunday, however neither mother or daughter were injured in the attack.

Elsewhere, two men have been injured in a paramilitary-style attack on the outskirts of north Belfast. The men were attacked and beaten at Knockenagh Avenue in Rathfern shortly before 7.30pm on Sunday.

Both men were treated in hospital for puncture wounds to their arms and legs.

Meanwhile, a 34-year-old man has been shot during a paramilitary style assault in Larne on Friday.

The man was walking along Walnut road at around 11.30pm when he was approached by four masked males who bundled him into a passing car.

The victim was then taken to Churchill Road where he was shot in the left leg. The man's attackers are believed to have then fled in a black coloured car.
