Shots fired at house in east Belfast

A number of shots have been fired at a house in Victoria Road in the Sydenham area of east Belfast.

The gun attack took place at around 8.45pm on Monday evening and it is understood that there was no-one in the property at the time.

Police said that a blue Rover car was found on fire a short distance away in an underpass at Victoria Park, and believe that the vehicle may have been linked to the attack.

The shooting has been linked to an ongoing feud between the loyalist paramilitary groups the UVF and the LVF.

Detectives at Strandtown have appealed for information on the attack.

Anyone with information should contact 028 9065 0222 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
