Tyre depot fire threatens homes
Residents close to a fire at a tyre and fuel depot in west Belfast had to be evacuated last night as firefighters fought the blaze.
Emergency services were alerted to the blaze in the depot at Brookland Grange off the Stewartstown Road at around 10pm on Sunday.
The fire service were concerned about fuel and gas cylinders, including an acetylene gas cylinder on the premises.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.

£688m Announced For Public Sector Pay Awards
£688 million has been announced to prioritise public sector pay awards, Finance Minister, Dr Caoimhe Archibald MLA has announced. The allocation was part of the £1.045bn available from the Executive Restoration package for general pressures and pay in 2023-24. Some £22 million of resource funding was also available from the Executive’s own funds.

Although welcoming the recommendations in the "Getting It Right First Time" report on gynaecology across Northern Ireland, Alliance Health representatives have warned that implementation is already lagging.

PSNI Appeal Following Fatal Collision In L'Derry
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following a fatal road traffic in L'Derry on Thursday, 18 April. A woman, aged in her 70s, has died in hospital following a two-car collision on the Limavady Road at approximately 4pm. The collision involved a grey Citroen C3 and blue Alfa Romeo.
