Three arrested in connection with Lockhart murder

Police in Belfast have today arrested three men in connection with the murder of a man in the east of the city last summer.

North Belfast man , Jameson Lockhart, was fatally shot as he sat in a lorry at the junction of Templemore Avenue on the Lower Newtownards Road in July 2005.

The 25-year-old had been working on the site of the former Avenue One bar, when he was shot dead.

The UVF was originally linked with Mr Lockhart's murder.

The three men arrested are being held in police custody for questioning.

Arrests Made At Traffic Collision Following L'Derry Burglary

At 23:55 last night, police received a report of a collision on Gortinure Road involving a black Audi TT. The vehicle was found abandoned in a ditch.

Three men released without charge
Three men arrested yesterday in connection with the murder of North Belfast man Jameson Lockhart have been released without charge. Mr Lockhart was fatally shot as he sat in a lorry at the junction of Templemore Avenue on the Lower Newtownards Road in east Belfast, in July 2005.
