Woman sexually assaulted at knifepoint

Police in County Antrim have appealed for information after a woman was sexually assaulted by two men armed with knives.

Police have revealed that the attack happened in the early hours of Sunday morning, as the 22-year-old victim was trying to make a telephone call outside a hotel at Donaghy's Lane in Larne.

It is understood the the attacker pulled up the woman's skirt and threatened her with a knife.

A struggle ensued and one of the attackers accidentally cut himself with the weapon.

The assailants fled after being disturbed by the lights of an approaching taxi.

The men are thought to have escaped in a silver coloured Ford Focus with blacked out windows, possibly driven by a third male, which then drove off with no lights on.

The two males are described as being approximately 6ft tall, aged 18-19 years old wearing white trainers, jeans, baseball caps and hooded tops.

One of them wore glasses whilst the other had bad acne.

Police have carried out a number of forensic tests and their investigation is continuing.

Anyone who may have witnessed the attack or have any information relation to it, should contact detectives on 0845 600 8000, or on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.
