Two injured during County Tyrone attack

Police in County Tyrone have appealed for information after two people were assaulted at the weekend.

Shortly before 10pm yesterday evening, two males were walking past the Derryloran Church in the Church Street area of Cookstown, when they were attacked by a gang of up to nine unknown assailants – one of whom was armed with a knife.

One of the victims sustained a cut to his arm and neck and was taken to hospital with serious, but not life threatening, injuries.

The other male suffered minor cuts during the attack.

Police in Cookstown are trying to establish a motive for the assault and are currently following all lines of inquiry.

Homes Evacuated In Co Tyrone And Co Down

In the first security alert, a suspicious object was found at at a house on the Gortgonis Road in Coalisland. Anil Patel pled guilty to attempted sexual communication with a child, arranging the commission of a child sex offence and possessing extreme pornography of children.

Detectives have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following a recent robbery in the Craigavon area. A 17-year-old boy was travelling on his e-bike at approximately 12.

Drugs, Paraphernalia And Cash Seized In L'Derry Searches
Suspected Class B drugs with an estimated street value of £10,000 has been seized during a search operation in the Waterside are of L'Derry on Monday, 08 April. District Support Team (DST) officers made the seizures, assisted by Tactical Support Group colleagues, during two searches at addresses yesterday morning.

Justice Minister Condemns Attacks On Police Officers
NI Justice Minister, Naomi Long, has condemned attacks on police officers, after it was revealed that on average 8 officers are assaulted every day while on duty. Minister Long said: "Attacks on police officers, indeed attacks on any public servant are totally unacceptable.
